島根の弁護士

Set in the prefecture with the 2nd lowest population in Japan, Shimane has only 36 lawyers out of the total of 20,000 in the whole of Japan.

Yukie plays the power suited Yamazaki Mizuho, a hap-hazard fresh lawyer from Tokyo, who requests to be posted to an area with the least lawyers so that she is able to help those in need. In her interview, she mentioned that working barefooted would raise her fighting spirit and she would be able to do her best.

However, her real reason for getting a transfer to Shimane is to look for her mother, who her dad said had passed away when she was 2 but she thinks otherwise when she went through her citizen register. She believed that her mother is still alive and is most probably at the prefecture where she was brought up.

Through the 107 min show, it seems more like something from the tourism board of Shimane, with the beautiful castle (original, not reconstructed, as per WikiTravel)appearing quite a few times, and the laid-back farms and trades. The plot consists of 2 negligence amounting to death cases and a request to murder case, which the hardworking Mizuho went out of her way to investigate the truth behind the cases.

Probably seeing Yukie in power suit is a better attraction..
